Day 3: Bedwell Harbor to Winter Cove, Saturna Island

Again mostly according to my cruise plan but again more current than Washburne's seemed to indicate, especially where the chart indicates "tide rips" off Gowland Point, South Pender Island. The SE wind in Boundary Pass failed by Plumper Sound and was replaced by 15-25 kts NE funneling over Samuel Island and dropped considerably by the time we got into Winter Cove. We took a picnic lunch ashore and sat in the shade and read our books for a few hours. After a short walk we checked out Boat Pass with its rapids-like current.

Yes, this is the ocean! Boat Pass is just a 40 or 50 feet wide gap between Saturna and Samuel Islands.	The view from our picnic spot. Boat Pass is the low point in the center of the picture.
