I was the President of the Eastside Writers Association
(ESWA) between May 2000 and May 2005. In addition to presiding at the meetings, I
was the speaker coordinator and web master of the ESWA
web site. Also as the president of ESWA, I
wrote a column that appeared in the monthly newsletter to members between
September 2000 and March 2002.
The column, "The
Pres Says," informed the membership of important issues facing the
association and provided context for the speakers chosen for the monthly
meetings. Columns include those from these
issues: March 2002 - Public
appearances help your writing
January 2002 - Write
with a Purpose
November 2001 - Don’t look now,
but we’re broke!
October 2001 - Consider the Power
of Words in the News Media
September 2001 - "Rejoice
in Diversity"
May 2001 - "ESWA Still Runs on
Volunteer Power (Barely)"
April 2001 - "Don't Quack Up,
Try Webbing your Feat!"
March 2001 - "It's a Mystery to
Me or Get Your Thoughts Organized!"
February 2001 - "Get Your
Thoughts Organized!"
January 2001 - " Explore Publishing
Alternatives"
December 2000 - "Nothing. "
November 2000 - "Experience
the World of Folk Songwriting. "
October 2000 - "Try the Power
of Networking"
September 2000 - "ESWA Runs
on Volunteer Power"
